The impact of Iran’s attack on Israel
On Tuesday, June 12, the Brookings Institution hosted a luncheon honoring Haim and Cheryl Saban, founders of the Saban Center for Middle East Policy. The event featured a discussion with Israeli President Shimon Peres and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in which they examined several critical issues currently facing the Middle East and U.S. interests in the region.
Founded in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Saban Center was created to enhance dialogue on critical issues between the United States and the nations of the Middle East and to analyze and affect public policy toward the region. Over the past ten years, the Saban Center has advanced innovative policy ideas on the challenging issues confronting U.S. and Middle Eastern policymakers, including “the war on terror,” the Arab-Israeli conflict, weapons of mass destruction, and democratization.
